Choosing the Right Crystal Oil for You
By: Jacquetta Szathmari
What is crystal healing, how does it work?
Which crystals are right for me?
Inspired by the idea that semiprecious stones can promote mental clarity and jumpstart healing processes, our team created six crystal-infused body and massage oils to nourish the skin while soothing the body and mind. If you are already a crystal devotee or just love the idea, keep reading for help on picking the organic crystal body or massage oil for your world and lifestyle.
Crystal healing is nothing new.
The Sumerians, ancient Egyptians, and Romans practiced lapidary medicine, which remained in vogue through the Middle Ages before losing popularity. Crystal therapy made a strong comeback in the 1970s with the New Age movement and is thriving today both in North America and across the globe.
According to practitioners, crystals have powerful electromagnetic fields that can influence the flow of energy through the body, align chakras, and stimulate or calm the mind. To receive the benefits, the crystal or mineral must make contact with the energy field of the person seeking healing. For example, rose quartz worn as jewelry or laid on the skin is said to attract romance and passion by focusing the mind on matters of the heart. This “love magnet” also improves the skin’s appearance and fortifies the heart; it’s a busy mineral.
Not into the crystal cure? Skeptical about mineral medicine?
We see you. In science, crystals are prized as sound wave transmitters, light manipulators, and electrical generators. Crystallographers, who study crystal structure and properties have applied research findings to advance modern manufacturing, chemistry, genetics, and even forensics.
Crystals are also pretty to look at. I’m not saying you can power your analog radio-flashlight-watch with lapis lazuli, but perhaps focusing your mind on the qualities they are said to possess might help illuminate issues in your life and assist you in putting mental energy behind finding some solutions.
So, which crystal oil is right for you?
Complementary and alternative medicine devotees may already know the healing properties assigned to various crystals in our massage and body oils, but for the rest of us here’s a quick primer:
Problem: I don’t know what I’m doing almost half of the time!
Solution: Amber Jojoba Organic Crystal Body Oil
Amber accumulates wisdom, restores balance, and helps bring about peaceful resolutions. (If only they had known about that in Jurassic Park.) Amber releases negativity and embraces self-acceptance. This stone implores you to tap into knowledge gained from personal experiences and take lessons from the trials, errors, and triumphs of others.
Jojoba oil is Nature’s gift for the skin. It mimics your natural oils and can repair damaged skin and improve elasticity and softness.
Problem: I think I overdid it last night, last week, this year...
Amethyst amulets were worn by the ancients to prevent hangovers. Legend has it that its purple color is the result of it absorbing Bacchus’ wine. Amethyst has a sobering effect, which promotes physical and mental detoxification. Serenity, here you come.
Sweet almond oil protects skin from harmful UV rays and repairs dry and sunburnt skin while boosting collagen. It is also good for alleviating muscle pain.
Problem: Brother, can you spare a dime?
Aventurine, comes in a variety of colors and hues, from red to blue, but our version uses the green kind which creates ideal conditions for prosperity. Slather this oil on to greet abundance at the door, but be ready to move, because this money-colored rock is going to kick your circulation into high gear. This boost to circulatory flow makes choosing Aventurine a good idea when you simply need some general healing. Aventurine lets you level up on vitality to repair, regrow and regenerate.
Avocado oil is a significant antioxidant that assists in keeping wrinkles at bay. Feel free to use it all over to maintain skin elasticity and hydration.
Problem: Wow, I just bored myself.
Carnelian focuses on the reproductive system and delivers an all-over energy boost. This translates to increased motivation, heightened creativity, and spontaneity. Want to be fearless, embrace change and start a new project? This is oil for you. Mix it up in the bedroom or the boardroom, (or the hall closet, if there’s room)!
Apricot oil is high in antioxidant warrior, vitamin E, and scar eraser, vitamin K. It also works wonders as a hair serum and can relieve inflammation.
Problem: We both need to get on the same page ASAP.
Solution: Garnet Argan Organic Crystal Massage Oil
Garnets are all about sexual equilibrium and emotional harmony. They can balance your sex drive with that of your partner and arrest bedroom boredom. Use this crystal oil to expand your mind, enlarge your world and bounce back with renewed confidence. Garnet will give you the energy and stamina to turn your fantasies into reality.
Argan oil is high in vitamin E, which preserves skin elasticity and evens skin tone.
Problem: I just can’t seem to make a decision.
Tiger eye is the ibuprofen of the crystal world and vanquishes pain and inflammation. The mental harmony it creates allows you to see trouble coming and prepares you to stay balanced in the face of adversity. Tiger eye puts you in control of your feelings. Banish indecision, and illogical thinking and roll merrily along on a wave of transformation.
Macadamia nut oil reduces the appearance of scars, stretch marks, and blemishes. It is also used to promote hair growth and helps the skin retain moisture.
We could all use a little help getting back in the game these days. Why not add a crystal (or three!) to your team?

In January we rang in the Nude Year with self-love, self-care, and self-acceptance, so by now you are hopefully feeling pretty comfortable with your naked bod. It’s still a good time, however, to reflect on an asset that often gets short shrift in skin care regimens: your booty.
Since the pandemic we have all been spending a lot more time seated. Just because your tukhus is usually out of sight, doesn’t mean it should be out of mind. Time to give some love to that special body part that’s been supporting you all year.
On March 8th, all over the planet, we celebrate International Women’s Day. But, what is International Women’s Day? What does it mean and how can you participate?
Since Women’s Day finds its roots in the late 19th century, here’s a little dry history:
First celebrated simply as “Women’s Day”, the original idea is attributed to German socialists and suffragettes who were inspired by the American Socialist Party’s Women’s Day celebration held in New York in 1909 and the Women’s Rights Convention of 1848.
